LG Arena (KM900) Phone Review

The LG Arena (KM900) is another full-faced touch screen phone that are all the rage right now. Well, really all the rage since Apple introduced their iPhone some years ago now. Ever since, a lot of the manufacturers have been trying to play catch up. And they still haven’t overtaken the Apple. But that’s our opinion. Maybe we’re too hard on the competitors. But at least offer something extra or unique.

The LG Arena (KM900) tries to offer than with its 3D user interface, though we think that in this instance the D in 3D stands for dreary. Not that it is a bad experience, but rather ho hum. Not quite as polished as Apple’s but it does the job. Just not sure that it is exceptional in any way.

The LG Arena (KM900) has an average 3 inch screen, which is more than adequate, and the crispness and colors are vivid and visually stimulating. Having a touch screen you get your choice of full QWERTY in landscape of standard QWERTY in portrait. As such it comes with an accelerometer for ease of use from landscape to portrait mode and back again.

The LG Arena (KM900) phone has a good 5 mega pixel camera with an additional camera in the front for video calling. Of course it has loads of regular features and apps and is a fine phone. One of its strongest points is its titanium body. This should make it strong and it does make it light. One of the lightest full screen touch phones out there at 105 grams.

BlackBerry Curve 890 Review

The BlackBerry Curve 890 was released late last year. Considered a smartphone, BlackBerry has been a pioneer in the smartphone market. And the BlackBerry Curve 890 is continuing this tradition. Available through T-Mobile, this is a phone that is great for power users who want to be able to have a virtual office on the run.

The BlackBerry Curve 890 comes packed with some great features that a lot of folks will be able to make good use of. The usual great features such as an excellent phone, great email and text messaging, the organizer, web browser and multimedia apps are there and working just great. But in addition to all of this, the BlackBerry Curve 890 comes with global connectivity support, Wi-Fi, a GPS that is surprisingly accurate, a fast 512Mhz processor and a great high-resolution screen.

It also has a full QWERTZ keyboard for making messaging a synch, but additional features of the BlackBerry Curve 890 are video to go as well as text and maps. This is very handy if you’re looking for a new restaurant for example. You also get a great 3.2 mega pixel camera, so arguably, you don’t need a camera anymore. And the expandable memory can fit up to a 16GB micro SD flash card.

The BlackBerry Curve 890 is also the thinnest BlackBerry yet, which is always handy. The only drawback, and it’s a small thing really is getting used to the BlackBerry’s keyboard. That “y” will be the death of me.
