Samsung’s i8910 HD mobile phone
The Samsung’s i8910 HD mobile phone is a real piece of eye candy. Phones nowadays are becoming mini computers in so may ways. They’re competing with each other to become more and more outrageous in their capabilities. Frankly we love it. and the Samsung’s i8910 HD is raising the bar, especially in many multi media aspects.
For one thing, Samsung’s i8910 HD is the worlds first HD video recording mobile phone. In addition to this you can watch HD TV via DLNA technology. Believe us, this really does make a difference. Especially when you see it on the world’s largest 3.7” AMOLED screen with 16 million colors. Absolute brilliance.
The thing that really got us salivating was Samsung’s i8910 HD’s huge camera capabilities. We’re talking face detection, smile shot, blink shot and panoramic shot all from a massive 8 mega pixel auto focus lens.
Samsung’s i8910 mobile Phone HD internet speed is up there at 7.2 Mbps HSDPA, with included real time video sharing via Wi-Fi. The amount of space that can be had on this phone is very large. Sony Ericsson W995 Phone Review
Sony Ericsson W995 Mobile Phone
Sony Ericsson has been a solid team in the mobile phone market for years now. They have come to be aligned with quality and state of the art technology. So, does the Sony Ericsson W995 deliver us to the mobile phone promised land? Not quite, but we get pretty close to it.
The design of the Sony Ericsson W995 is not being stretched in any way. And it’s doubtful that they were looking to win any design awards. But it is a reliable phone with some good pluses. This phone is certainly in line with the Sony Walkman franchise and includes a little docking station of speakers. We found these a bit gimmicky. They work well enough, certainly an improvement over the internal speaker, but we can’t imagine who would really be carting speakers around with their phone, even if the speakers are small.
The other point of contention with the Sony Ericsson W995 mobile phone is the small 2.6 inch screen. It seems nowadays most smartphones are coming with 3 inches or better. And yes, in this case gentlemen, bigger is better. And the ladies agree.
Now before you think we’re just beating up on little ol’ Sony, there are some great features. The first of which is the ability to download up to 3 free films per month depending on your plan. This is pretty cool we must say. Additionally you get a very respectable 8 mega pixel camera too. And even though the Sony Ericsson W995’s display is small, it is crisp and visually satisfying.
T-Mobile G2 Touch phone
T-Mobile G2 Touch phone
The T-Mobile G2 Touch phone hit the shelves in July of 2009. A long anticipated phone, it has been well worth the wait. One of the first things that came to our attention with this phone is the nice design that it has. Not trying to be a simple clone of the other full touch screen phones, it has a rather pleasant and visually pleasing slight J curve to the mouthpiece. This is a nice bit of design.
The T-Mobile G2 Touch phone is based on the Android operating system which a lot of folks love. It allows for easy use of Microsoft based applications, plus it has a great user interface. And with the HTC Sense integration, the applications certainly render better and smoothly. Although some of the integration is still a bit sluggish. Facebook comes to mind as such an application that is cumbersome. But overall, the Android OS aided by HTC Sense, does a terrific job of making this a great overall experience for the user.
One gripe is that the QWERTY keyboard is a little finicky. As an example, in the landscape mode you very often find that the “Enter” key is missing so you have to go back to portrait to access it. Yeah, quite annoying. The 5 mega pixel is a nice bonus and it takes great pictures. The only problem is that there is no flash, and this makes it incredibly difficult to take low light shots without adding some shakiness to the image.
